Fieldstone Lane
Fieldstone Lane runs north-northeast from Nashua Road (Route 4) for about 1,800 feet to Hemlock Lane, and is the main street of the Sumner Farms subdivision, east of the Simonds Farm streets. Its land was an unused part of the property of Lantheus Medical Imaging, whose campus is reached from Treble Cove Road. At the company's request the spring town meeting of 2009 rezoned about 43 acres along Nashua Road from Industrial to Rural Residence, voting 112 to 54. The company then sold about 128 acres of vacant land with frontage on Nashua Road, and on May 13, 2014 town meeting granted two petitions of the buyer, Bedford Woods LLC, to rezone the land to Neighborhood Residence "in anticipation of submission of a tradition[al] subdivision for single family dwellings to be built on 1-acre lots."
The street was laid out on "Sumner Farms, Definitive Subdivision Plan, Fieldstone/Hemlock Lane," drawn by Dresser, Williams & Way, Inc., of 572 Boston Road (Francis J. McDonald, land surveyor), dated December 3, 2014 and revised to June 9, 2016, for Bedford Woods Development, LLC, of 204 Andover Road. The Planning Board's approval was recorded on December 7, 2015 (Book 29641, Page 1), and the plan was endorsed on September 1, 2016 and recorded the next day (Plan Book 242, Plan 26). It shows Fieldstone Lane as a 50-foot way with house lots of about an acre. The developer laid 1,750 feet of ten-inch water main in it from Nashua Road to Hemlock Lane, the first houses were sold in 2018, and over the winter of 2018 to 2019 the developer "completed the upper end of Fieldstone Lane beyond the culvert." In 2020 a further main from Fieldstone Lane to Dolly Brook Circle completed the looping of the water system.
No acceptance of Fieldstone Lane as a public way was found in the town reports through 2025. The origin of the names Fieldstone Lane and Sumner Farms was not found.
